Kokusai Street, Ryu’s Dining and Homemade Mad Hatters

OK, here is what we’ve been up to in October:

Shopping on Kokusai Street in downtown Naha.  We took the monorail from a downtown shopping mall to avoid crazy parking situations…I highly recommend this because it was also fun to see Naha from up high!

We watched a Halloween parade while we were there.  Totally didn’t expect that!  There were dragon boats, Eisa dancers, Mickey Mouse and even the contestants of Miss World (is that how you say that? I don’t know, but we saw Miss Brazil, Miss Finland, Miss America…all of them seemed to be there in crazy outfits).

We went to a Kubasaki High School football game and cheered in the rain.

We said farewell to Adam’s coworker, Kevin, who went to Heidelberg, Germany. We ate delicious Chinese food at Ryu’s Dining.  I’m going to write a whole post on how much I love this place AND it’s owner and chef, Dragon!

And we celebrated Halloween as Alice in Wonderland and two Mad Hatters!!

It’s been a wonderful month and a hard one as well…filled with doubt about where we would be and how long we would be here!
